The Chosen One, The Boy Who Lived, Harry Potter. A prophetic, chilling and incredible story in a series of seven books. A global and inter-generational literary phenomenon.

It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities”. (Albus

Let’s step inside the work. It aims to reveal a more profound reality that lies behind it, hidden from our visual world. Art does not reproduce the things we can see, but instead allows us to see things that are not always visible. A great work of art can depict even the monstrous with sublime beauty, and the painter Alessandro Serra consciously portrays enchanted laws of nature within the reality of the world, so that they can be enjoyed from a realm that is more intuitive than rational. Although the work is inspired by the imagination generously provided by the renowned writer J.K. Rowling and not by reality, this does not in any way affect its ability to transform the firm beliefs and moral richness inherited from the Harry Potter novels. The only thing that the artwork Il Percorso (referring to the path taken by Voldermort, the Dark Lord) aims to clarify is that we should not merely seek moral guidance, but instead create new values with our free choices.
The Daimon inside us symbolises the yearning for greed that the dark part of our soul must satisfy during the critical stages of its existence. Defeating the desires of this Daimon requires the strength of a demigod, and is of critical importance.

A horcrux is a secret beyond all secrets, and so it must be protected from the nosey, the unworthy

The physics genius taught us to think with him… despite his doubts on the theory of quantum entanglement, a phenomenon which has now been proven, in which two or more particles, even though they are separated, in some way remain as one, with whatever happens to one of them instantaneously being reflected in the other, no matter how far apart they are. The separated particles would continue to be connected even if they were billions of miles apart.

Wickedness exists, and it is unleashed even when the conscience does not lose control.

When we are young, the discovery of our secret madness attracts and worries us, but we cannot venture into those inaccessible regions with the power of the Id alone, or they overwhelm us and so we need a companion, like Dante needed Virgil and Bellatrix needed Voldermort to descend to Hell. Bellatrix Black, evil, beautiful, and with a psychotic personality, identified by her peers from an extremely young age as a witch with a sinister, whimsical and changeable appearance, soon realised her enormous power and learned to control it…

Luogo della Reminiscenza (Place of Reminiscence)”
Oil on canvas, 100×150 cm – 2015
inspired by the novels of J. K. Rowling
For the heroic Snape it must have been agonising to die in silence, without being able to shout out his truth.
Continua a leggere The only positive thing about his childhood was his meeting with Lily Evans, with whom he immediately fell in love and continued to love until the end of his life. That first love, never reciprocated and suddenly torn apart, like every ‘paradise lost’ ended up creating an eternal, illfated memory. A sweet yet tragic memory is deposited unconsciously in the inaccessible recesses of the mind, in the hope that oblivion will see an end to the events. However, at the right time the recollection is so strong it seems like a curse, because those pages of history will torture us for the rest of our lives. Incredibly, despite his tormented existence, Severus Snape, the Death Eater, the only one to succeed in fooling He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, by pretending that he was the last owner of the Elder Wand, a powerful Slytherin wizard and fearless and feared Professor of Potions at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry, was able to do everything in the name of that love. Time is made up of moments that never return. We cannot be what we once were. Nostalgia tells us that everything we have experienced and loved will never come back, but from those places beyond the sky an involuntary memory can bring what is lost back into the light. Just like in Hegel’s The Phenomenology of Spirit, in that place of memory the soul is cut off, and the time comes when the Spirit grows apart from itself, expands outwards and becomes nature. Returning to our usual meeting places does not so much represent a longing to return to a particular location, but rather the desire to go back to the time spent in that environment, to capture that experience of youth and see the place unchanged and our beloved once more, managing, albeit sadly, to relive affection and emotion without being able to give shape to our feelings. Experiencing this suffering in a sacred, transcendental and mystical dimensional calms the anxiety of the tarnished soul and at the same time provides comfort, as it leaves open the door of distance. *****
